Garry Winogrand
Winogrand was born in 1928 and photographer primarily on the streets of New York City. He was most known for portraying U.S society during the mid 20th century.

Art Rogers
His work isn’t exactly what I am doing for my new final project, but his style a shooting is pretty similar to what I am going for. A style which is primarily dead on portraits of people within environments, not studio settings. I found him just while google searching photographers who photograph others at their houses.
He specializes mainly in family and baby portraits but has also photographed landscapes. His work is primarily in black and white, a choice that is not expanded upon on his website, but I think it adds a unique touch to his photos. His website is http://www.artrogers.com/
While trying to do some research on Rogers, mainly to see how old he may be if he is still alive, I discovered that the U.S court case “Rogers V Koons” was actually between this Art Rogers and Jeff Koons and was because Koons took a photo that Rogers had taken and turned it into a statue. Rogers had one project that really caught my eye and that is his “Yesterday & Today” series. In this series he takes subjects that he has taken portraits of and retakes the same subjects portrait in the same spot a few years later. Some of the portraits even have up to a 30 year gap between them. Many portraits are presented as diptychs, but there are a couple that are presented as triptychs.
Cara Soulia
Cara Soulia is an owner of a family photo studio in Boston, Massachusetts but recently, due to COVID-19, she hasn’t been able to get business. With her free time she has decided to take portrait photos of families on the doorstep in her neighborhood. In fact, I think a lot of photographers are doing this across the country. This is more or less what my project is, except I am just taking portraits of single individuals and also taking statements about their thoughts around all this COVID stuff.
Soulia’s project is called “The Front Steps Project” and has gained a fair bit of viral attention from news sites. She has also been running a fundraiser to raise money for the community of Needham, MA. So far, she has raised $750,000 and this money has been used to support animal shelters, food pantries, and the homeless during the pandemic.
